This post is all about why you need to visit Porto’s Bakery in California!
Apparently, Porto’s Bakery has been very popular in California for YEARS, but I am somehow just discovering it! This was also my first experience in a Cuban bakery. Let’s just say, I’m now a huge fan. Porto’s grew from a small family business to a multi-location Californian empire.
My new favorite bakery and cafe, but sadly, I don’t live in California. Affordable and inexpensive. They have cakes, cuban sandwiches and plates, pastries, and baked goods of all kinds!
You can currently enjoy Porto’s Bakery at six locations with a seventh on the way (Disneyland, anyone?). I had the opportunity to visit the Buena Park location.
They use fresh ingredients, and you can really tell. Everything I tried tasted amazing and freshly baked. My family ordered a bunch of items for everyone to try. This was my first time trying a cuban sandwich.
This cafe is known for their long, yet speedy, lines and great service. They are really a well-run production in there! It is so big that they have a cake section, two long cafe counters where you can order everything and anything, and a full coffee bar.
They even have select take and bake (and home delivery) items, so you can have Porto’s amazing food hot and ready at home.
Porto’s has something to fit anyone’s taste, however their allergens are not listed. I have a severe nut allergy, which makes my foodie lifestyle extremely difficult. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about which foods had nuts when I asked about my allergy. I had no issues and enjoyed everything I wanted to enjoy!
Overall, Porto’s is my new favorite spot, and I can’t wait to visit again. Their fresh baked goods and coffee reminded me of the high quality I enjoyed during my time studying abroad in Spain. You definitely need to try Porto’s if you haven’t already.
I just might be visiting California more often!
