School and work have always been my top priorities.
Let me premise this post by saying that I am generally a very on edge person, so it is difficult for me to let loose. My time and energy is important to me. I am serious about my education, my future career, and the goals that I set for myself. I often find it quite hard to let loose and have fun.
This post is your permission to let loose and have fun during or after college.
Wherever you are in life, you deserve this. If you are normally the type of person that I am, very serious and structured, I am allowing you to have some fun. Let loose. Stay up too late. Life is too short not to!
It may seem very strange or blatantly obvious that I am saying that you should have fun in life, especially while you are young. I did not party AT ALL in college. I didn’t join a sorority, and I didn’t follow the activities of my peers. My nights were spent in the library and at home with my family or friends. I believe that it is important to know who you are and do what you enjoy.
I am pretty introverted, and I do the introverted thing! However, you will never know what you are missing if you don’t go out and enjoy life once in a while. De-stressing will do wonders to your body and mind.
I am not encouraging alcoholism or destructive activities. There is a fine line! Be safe. Be smart. But, have fun! You work too hard not to enjoy your successes. You work too hard not to enjoy life!
When you let loose and de-stress, you will discover that your anxiety levels also improve!
I have struggled with confidence issues and anxiety. I can be very stuck in my ways and on edge. Going out with friends, dancing, laughing, and just having a fun night on the town (or whatever you like to do for fun) can help you more than you may think! Blowing off some steam after a long week can help you manage your anxiety and stress.
Letting loose will help you be yourself. It will help you be more confident in your skin, and that will translate to anything else that you do. Find the activities that make you the most happy and excited. Connect with others and be social.
This is your permission to let loose and have fun.
Take the night off from worrying about school, worrying about your career, worrying about responsibilities, worrying about your future. Spend time in the moment and enjoy the life you have now. You really can achieve your wildest dreams, and you will.
Do you ever feel like you’re too uptight and taking life too seriously? What helps to get you through your difficult moments?
