1) Instant Pot
The Instant Pot is one of my favorite appliances, especially for law school! When it comes to meal prepping, the instant pot is one of my favorite things. I could never cook rice very well until I discovered how to make rice perfectly with this device. I love making soups, one-pot meals, rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, and much more!
2) Storage Containers
Everyone who meal preps needs a good set of containers! Find some really cute containers that work well with your meals, and you’re set and ready for the week!
3) Air Fryer
Along with the Instant Pot, I also love a good air fryer. Conveniently, there is also an Instant Air Fryer! The Instant brand is my personal favorite. You can pick one or the other to have at your place, especially if your budget can only fit one specialty appliance. But, these appliances are great compliments to each other, AND having both can help you speed up your weekly meal prepping.
4) Knife Set
The biggest thing I regret when I first started meal prepping in law school was buying a BAD set of knives. I thought, why would I need good knives? They all do the same thing, right? I will tell you right now that a good set of knives is essential. Do not find out for yourself why. Get some good knives.
And, as a student, you have to find high quality products at a low price!
5) Cutting Boards
As I said about the knives, I regret buying incompetent cutting boards. Do yourself a favor!
6) Freezer Bags
This is an obvious necessity! I use these to freeze any leftover raw chicken when I buy it in bulk. If you are a really good planner, you might also enjoy freezing full meals for later!
