Do you have an interview or a presentation coming up? Are you feeling anxious for a certain event happening in your life? You are probably noticing that your confidence is lacking. It can be hard to find a boost of confidence on your own, but there are so many tricks that can help you feel more certain about your life and your goals.
Here are 5 tips for boosting your confidence! I try to incorporate these 5 things either together or at least once a day. Let me know if you enjoy doing any of these things, or if you have any other tips that work for you.
1. Rock a Power Pose!
Power poses are extremely helpful because they help bring your body into a physical state of confidence. If your body is feeling confident, this will help your mind feel confident, too. I find myself ‘power posing’ in my bedroom, an empty hallway, or even a bathroom stall. There are many different poses that you can do, but my favorite pose involves standing like Superman or Superwoman. Place your hands on your hips and hold your head high for about 30 seconds or longer.
Here’s a great Ted Talk on the subject.
2. Drink some caffeine.
Caffeine is great for staying alert during those long work days, but it can also boost your energy and make you feel more confident in yourself before a presentation or interview. Drink a little extra coffee or tea when you are feeling down, and you will find that your confidence will be improved.
3. Create your own confidence-boosting mantra.
Mantras are great because you can personalize them to your own needs. For example, you can start by saying the words “I am worthy” to yourself every morning after waking up, or you can come up with another mantra to say to yourself before a stressful event or situation, such as “I will rock this interview!” You can come up with longer or shorter mantras to fit your personal needs and style.
4. Exercise to boost your confidence!
Moving your body will help you release any stress and anxiety that is built up inside. You can turn up some super loud music to boost your mood and get your heart rate up. Weight lifting is also a great confidence booster that will make you both physically and mentally strong!
5. Surround yourself with people who believe in you
It is a common saying that you are a reflection of the 5 closest people in your life. If you surround yourself with people that bring you down, you will, as a result, feel less confident in yourself. By surrounding yourself with people who love and care about you, they will be there to support you and bring out the confidence in yourself. Our personal relationships are more important than we think!
